Feel Accomplished.

Folding clothes makes

all the difference

It's laundry day, and you are regretting it. But maybe you enjoy it. Everyone is different. The average household washes about 7.5 loads every week, and that either ends up being a whole day of washing, drying, and folding, or it means a few hours every other evening doing laundry. Washing your clothes is a given. You want to look and smell your best. We are all active, especially our kids, and we need to freshen up so as not to look like a slob. After you wash your clothes, what do you do next? Do you throw them in a basket and hope t be able to find what you need only to find out it's now wrinkled? Whether you fold and put away your clothes or not is up to you, but here are three reasons why you should consider folding your clothes after you wash them.

The average household washes about 7.5 loads every week, and that either ends up being a whole day of washing, drying, and folding, or it means a few hours every other evening doing laundry.

No Wrinkles Needed

The first reason why you should fold your clothes is it keeps your clothes from getting wrinkled. Wrinkled clothes are especially true for formal and semi-formal dress shirts and pants. The last thing you want to do is put on that "zoom" shirt on the morning of your meeting, only to find out it needs to be ironed or thrown in the dryer. Not folding or hanging up your clothes right away can cost you more time in the long run. So if you already hate to iron, trust me, you will want to fold and hang your clothes right away. Another reason you might not want to fold your clothes is it takes time too much time.

See What You Need Quickly

You are a busy parent, and trying to fold laundry on the couch with kids running around knocking your neatly folded piles over can be a nightmare. Being a busy parent, on the other hand, is why folding is essential. It might be chaotic on the weekend, but if you're trying to dig through piles of each kid's clothes every morning before school and work, it gets even crazier. Finding a pair of matching socks or a shirt with those pants is hard when everything is in the middle of the living room or the bedrooms floors. Having neatly folding clothes by type makes it easy to find what you need when you need it without searching the entire house. It doesn't help you find clothes, but it also helps keep other items from getting lost. How many times have you lost a remote or an essential document in a pile of clothes? Keeping your clothes clean helps keep the rest of the house looking neat and organized as well.

Makes Feel Accomplished

Keeping a clean home leads to the third reason why folding clothes is essential. It makes the job of laundry day complete and makes you feel accomplished. The is nothing worse than doing what seems like endless loads of laundry only to have them end up in a basket or pile in the living room or bedrooms. The job never looks complete and leaves you feeling even more stressed and worn out. Laundry can be a chore, and if your anything like an enneagram three, you want to have that sense of accomplishment and check something off the list. If having half-done tasks frustrates you, you will also want to make sure your laundry is cleaned and put away in an orderly fashion. If you do it right, it may even look Instagram-worthy having a closet that you can show off to your followers. Maybe that isn't you, but it can still make you feel better at the end of the day.

So next time it's laundry day, remember that folding or not folding your clothes is not about the time it takes at the moment. It's about having wrinkle-free shirts for your next meeting, being able to find stuff in the busy morning rush, and makes you feel accomplished and proud of your home and lifestyle at the end of the day.
