6 Things do do Indoors During Winter in Kalispell

Not everyone loves the winter months.  Unless you ski, snowboard, or sled, the winter season is just cold, dark, and lonely.  How do you get through the dreaded cold months of the year.  At least it has Thanksgiving and Christmas to look forward to.  Here are 6 things you can do indoors this winter season to stay warm and stay sane.

Call Someone.

Just like you might be lonely and feeling isolated so might your friends or family.  We live in a very connected world.  Call them up, video chat on Facetime or dare I say Zoom.  You may be far apart from family but you can still keep in contact with people from across the country and the world.  Schedule a weekly group chat and discuss a book or movie.

Read a Book.

That leads me to another activity.  Reading.  Now might be the perfect time to catch up on that reading list that you made on January 1st.  Well now that your busy summer is over you now have time to sit still long enough to read that favorite novel.

Do a Puzzle.

Sitting with nothing to do can be mentally draining.  Keep your brain fresh with a puzzle.  Maybe it’s a 1000 piece Jigsaw puzzle that will take weeks or maybe it's a brain teaser like a rubik's cube.  Working your brain can make the time go by faster and keep you feeling smart.

Bake Something.

Who doesn’t like sweets.  It's cold outside so it's time to turn on your oven and make some cookies and some holiday pastries.  It’s not the holidays or winter without sipping some hot cocoa and having a homemade cookie.

Workout.

At home workouts are all the rage these days.  Especially in 2020 where many gyms have been closed down.  Just like your reading goals got pushed back maybe your workout goals have too.  Now is the time to get back on the train, especially since you might be eating more baked goods.

Make Something.

Finally, if baking, reading, or working out is not interesting then find something you love.  Make something.  Maybe it’s woodworking, or maybe it’s art.  Create something every day or every week.  If you think I don’t know what I am good at or maybe you even thing you don’t know how to do anything.  Learn something.

Bonus Idea.

If you want to learn something try Skillshare or maybe just Youtube.  The topics and ideas are endless.
